Key exercise 1 of 3: Exhale Block Count

  1. Seated comfortably, take a normal inhale then exhale fully.
  2. At the end of the exhale pinch your nose shut and hold your breath
  3. Using a stopwatch count the seconds until you need to inhale

Note: If you feel dizzy at the end of this exercise drink a glass of water and wait a minute or two before standing up

The total seconds count of your Exhale Block denotes your asthma susceptibility at the present moment:
1 – 10 seconds: extremely susceptible
10 – 20 seconds: highly susceptible
20 – 30 seconds: moderately susceptible
30+ seconds: less susceptible
